The deal was a steal, and only achievable for two reasons:

(1) Declining lack of credibility of SanDisk management, following 2015 Q1/Q2 debacle, and

(2) Panicked stock market, driving stocks far below intrinsic value.

This was somewhat similar to the predatory action of Samsung in attempting a $26 takeover back in 2008. The difference being that SanDisk was now motivated to sell, and the offer came from a friendly partner.

If there is a post merger drop, I don't expect that drop to be below current levels. I anticipate Western Digital to be in the low to mid 50's at the time of merger completion, and to double within 18 months time.
