I thought seriously about becoming a professional astronomer while in high school. Did study it in college, but continued as an amateur instead. Haven't regretted that but surely love watching the heavens while camping. Or one time from 9000' on a shoulder of Mount Adams in Washington State where, even with a full moon in the sky, the stargazing was excellent.

I have a decent telescope, but nothing like yours. Don't let anybody kid you: size DOES matter! -g-
