Recent Fortune Dec29th issue has a article, "10 great bargins to snap up now" (page 76). In the Semi eqp grp they list Fsii, Klac and Svgi as their favorites to come back from what they call "bargins".
Fortune quotes Value guru Martin Whitman of Third Ave Value fund ( average annual return since 1990: 23%). Fsii after the beating it took is now trading at only 1.5 times book (Whitman prefers to pay no more than 1.8 times for high-tech stocks). Fortune also quotes Morgan Stanley's Jay Deahna who thinks Korea and Japan eqp sales will only decline 10% in 98 and this should be offset by strength in North America, Europe and Taiwan.
I bought back in last week @11-11 1/4. I guess I don't mind waiting a year or two for another double with Fsii.
