Man sexually assaults girl after trying to lure her with candy, BSO says local10.com excerpt: A Deerfield Beach man was arrested Monday morning after he sexually assaulted a 5-year-old girl in the laundry room of a Pompano Beach apartment complex, a Broward Sheriff's Office spokeswoman said. Lamont Mayweather, 29, was arrested on a charge of sexual assault on a victim under the age of 12. BSO spokeswoman Joy Oglesby said the assault happened Sunday at the girl's apartment complex after he tried to lure her with candy. According to the arrest affidavit, Mayweather called the girl to come over to the laundry room, where he sexually assaulted her. After he was done, Mayweather told her not to tell anyone, the report said. The girl immediately told her brother, who confronted Mayweather, but he denied touching her, the report said. A resident at the apartment complex told BSO investigator Elisa Galindez that Mayweather doesn't live there but had been offering candy to children in the area.
