Tommaso:

The main problem about the SE Asian companies now is profitability in a very high cost of capital regime. Some companies will do well, while others will collapse. If the fund managers are astute, then it will be OK for the fund prices. But many of these funds sell at a high premium because the countries were not liberal enough for direct investment. As the barrier to direct investment is removed, the premium will vanish. In this case, the local markets may rise in value while the fund value continues to languish until the NAV catches up.
