This is one of the most absurd statements rolling around and anyone who has had even remote contact with network security knows the comment is ridiculous.

There is a vast difference between using, e.g., a gmail account, versus one on a server at in the closet at your home. Hacking a gmail server is a totally different proposition from hacking Hillary's closet.

And the encryption provided by gmail (or others) is going to work consistently and probably have better overall implementation.

I think that is a really silly argument. And I'd bet I've heard it 20 times today.
