The extent to which both DNC and GOP establishment is willing to go to prevent election of Sanders and Trump shows how little true democracy exists in the US. The lack of tolerance for allowing the public to make the "wrong" choice is even more striking given that so many levers of power remain in the hands of the establishment. Naturally, in countries where power structure is not as refined and resilient, the wrong kind of person would face exponentially more resistance. I don't think anyone in they US can preach freedom and democracy to other countries anymore.
