I agree with that - Trump isn't rich enough to self-fund a successful campaign all the way to the WH. I believe Trump figures if he gets the nomination, the party will mostly fund the campaign. And if he runs third party, he'll mount a low cost spoiler campaign to throw the election to the Democrats. It would cost a billion to run a successful campaign, but as a spoiler he wouldn't plan on winning, just keeping the Republicans from winning.
