Chucka,

I hate to admit this, but I sorta agree with you! It must be a strange effect of the flu I am suffering from.

Here is what I think must happen. The DD's individually need to find economic and efficient methods of concentrating their own ores. They are all doing that now. They must be able to sell those concentrates at a profit. Michael's approach of trying to build a "custom refiner" begins to make a great deal of sense to me for the DD's. There must be dialogue between the prospective seller and the prospective buyer on methods and acceptable forms. For a startup company to become its own refinery is an extemely long shot. GPGI has done that on a laboratory scale, but only on a small scale. What the DD's need is exactly what Michael describes. Should the DD's support Michaels venture? My answer would be an unqualified "yes".

To have a refiner who understands the problems and has a positive view toward the dd's would be a major, major step forward. I do not mean to say that some other refiner might not be able to do something for one or all the companies sooner than Consolidated Noble. I just do not know about that. It is a matter of attitude by the refiner toward the dd's that counts. Helpful or skeptical?

Sick Jack
