Blasher - It all depends on your perspective. The vast majority of Americans sit to the Left from where you are coming from. From where I sit, Obama was very Right Wing. He had the greatest military budget in history and was a Hawk. He sold out to the Banksters and played G-d deciding which banks should live and which ones should die. Obama is a totalitarian fascist pig. ObamaCare is a farce of the highest order.
As a strong Bernie Sanders supporter, I like Trump much more than Hillary and will vote for Trump if Hillary becomes the Dem Candidate. I am a good judge of character and find Trump to be more flexible and open-minded than Hillary. Yes, Trump is a bit of a firecracker, but he will bring more inflation and higher prices to the US economy and that's what I am looking for. Trump's bark will be bigger than his bite. Hillary, on the other hand, is an extremely rigid, close minded thinker who thinks she has it all figured out. I don't want someone like that in power, the second coming of Margaret Thatcher.
I've come to abhor both the Republican and Democratic parties. At this point in my life, I would classify myself as eclectic, politically speaking, a mixture of conservative, liberal and socialist. I try to incorporate the best from all sides of the political spectrum. I am not a doctrinaire thinker. I support single payer universal healthcare. I am a dove on foreign policy and believe social security and other wasteful programs should be eliminated. Those who have already paid money into Social Security and are under 50, should be offered a buy out by the Government.
No one is going to balance this budget with the possible exception of Hillary so it is all a question of where the money will be spent, on single payer universal healthcare, massive defense spending and/or outrageous tax cuts for the top 1%.
Bottom line: Trump is much more pragmatic than he is letting on. That is good if Hillary can be painted to the right from where she wants to be. The conservatives in the country will never vote for Hillary. Trump can well afford to move toward the center somewhat during the general election.
