Ed,

I had invested in Asia (ex-Japan), but got out in August before the crash.

What I am looking for is a reason to go back. Right now it seems to be too unstable of a situation. Hence, I don't think we have seen the bottom yet.

What surprises me the most are the recent stories about all the corruption and the insider clout with governments. Has really shaken my confidence as a potential investor in the region. I used to believe in the Asian miracle, but now I am not so sure anymore.

Just looking for a reason to go back. Right now I sit on the sidelines and watch.

Will Asia make the hard changes that Mexico made several years back? Everything I read seems to indicate that is what is needed, but there is considerable skepticism whether the Asian governments will follow through, or whether it will just be business as usual.

So, I invest where I see value and competitive advantage. Right now that doesn't seem to be Asia, to me.

Regards,

TCG
