This election is a harbinger of change for the Republicans. Whatever happens, the party will never be the same.

But it isn't an unalloyed win for the Democrats. They have their own forces that will buffet the party. They seem to be more flexible and open to change, so it might not be as catastrophic for them. But change is in the wind, regardless. I don't think this is the election cycle for the showdown, but it is coming.

Bernie got a lot further than I thought he would. Despite the mobilization of the old guard against him. If the Democrats don't heed this wakeup call, well it is going to be nasty for them.
