Palin “is returning to Alaska to be with her husband and looks forward to being back on the campaign trail soon,” read a statement from Trump’s campaign. “Mr. Trump’s thoughts and prayers are with the Palin family at this time.” Palin was scheduled to campaign in The Villages, a sprawling retirement community in central Florida that has become a must-stop for Republicans running statewide. Palin campaigned there when she was on the GOP ticket in 2008.
