Hi Bob, Switzerland's business tax rate is 7.86%.. No wonder ACE Insurance.... a huge Swiss based insurance company bought Chubb a 130 year US multiline insurer that dealt with a lot of blue chip companies and individuals...... Ace kept the Chubb name but remain domiciled in Switzerland. US companies have at least 2.1 Trillion dollars overseas it may be more like 5 Trillion. In 1986 what the Republicans and Democrats did was to allow a 1 time special deal where US companies could repatriate overseas earnings and cash and bring it back and pay a rate of 6.25% If the US were to do the exact same thing again it would be a huge boost to the US economy. our tax code and rates are a scam to so that 10,000's of thousands of Tax attorneys , Partners in Accounting firms , consultants and other vested interests can make a killng by taking advantage of our dysfunctional tax and fiscal policies. The travesty of how a Company like Forrest Labs was able to create an effective tax rate of 2.4% while being headquartered in the US and then was able to move to Ireland and then roll up Pfizer into Forrest's roll up is most illuminating..... Maybe we will recap that here this weekend, ( I Need to send you a detailed PM on the income strategies we were talking about ) John
