Stockman, Fab 25 won't peak out capacity on 200mm untill 1999. then will double with 300mm wafer tehnology conversion... AMAT along with semitech will use AMD's fab in tx to test the technology... So now don't kill the messenger AMD may be inproduction before Intel. PS I'm not mking this stuff up. don't you ever talk to Intel?? The planning process for a fab is five years AMD is looking at a number of alternative and eyeballing a possible fab in china, built on the cheap by the chineese gov. using cheap chinees labor with no enviormental rules for even cheaper chips in the future. of Coarse there is also enought land at the Dredden site shuld the German goverment want to enter into the bidding. What is Iserial doning for Intel???
