A side note:

HK-listed CP Pokphand will soon (Q2 1998) begin direct competition w/ Tyson for the U.S. chicken market. CPP's production facility is in Alabama.

Wonder how this chicken debacle will effect CPP's stock price? A buying opportunity, perhaps.
