Hi All,

I started investing recently, and just joined Silicon Investor yesterday.

I have a question for all you value investors. When reading a balance sheet, how can you spot "funny" accounting e.g. enron or worldcom? I know most of the accounting basics, however I am concerned I might miss something painfully obvious.

Does anybody have recommended readings on this subject or any particular insight?
