---> Numbers are issued on global warming. It takes hubris to say this. "NASA said last month was 1.35 degrees Celsius (2.43 degrees Fahrenheit) warmer than average. Of that, 0.8 degrees (1.44 degrees Fahrenheit) comes from the long-term warming and 0.25 degrees (0.45 degrees Fahrenheit) from El Nino, with the rest unexplained residual, calculated climate scientist Stefan Rahmstorf of the Potsdam Institute in Germany and the University of New South Wales. Even after the El Nino phenomenon abates in coming months, way above normal temperatures won't exactly go away, Carlson and others said."
bigstory.ap.org This is amazing. Certain as gravity, eh? Thus, the Earth can not cool more than 0.25C from February 2016 as La Nina develops. I am going to hold them to it.
---> Here's another # for global warming. Climate Central says 2015 was 1.05C above preindustrial average, where 1.00C is from man-made CO2 and 0.05C was from El Nino. That is 95% of the anomaly attributed to global warming. No more than 5% cooling can occur, since they are as certain as gravity. http://
---> Arctic is worlds fastest warming region. Thus if we can't cool from here, then Arctic Ice will never gain. It's a straight trajectory upward, no sine waves. climatecentral.org
As I've said, the last 6 months have been expression of El Nino. Yes, global temperatures rose with response to El Nino. Expression of heat convects the atmosphere and clouds form and rain falls. This cools the surface. Throw in developing La Nina and flipping AMOC, and I expect the Earth to cool and Arctic Ice to increase. I will revisit some of these posts in the near future. |
