| | | First of all, the Muslim ban is only meant to be temporary. After all, it is a privilege to come to the USA. Maybe you don't think so, but most people throughout the world think that way. And if I'm not mistaken, which party placed Japanese Americans in concentration camps during World War II?
As for building the wall, let's get a couple of things straight. Many of the illegals coming over here are working for well under the minimum wage, taking jobs away from American teenagers who can use a part time/summer job to help pay for College. Many of the restaurants and hotels who hire these illegals as dishwashers, porters, groundskeepers, etc; need to be penalized.
Immigrants coming over here are suppose to be assets to the country and not dead weight. The first immigrants to this country were true explorers and entrepreneurs who helped make this country great. Shouldn't there be some kind of standard for immigrants to come live here? I remember when my grandparents came to the USA they only spoke Jewish. They wanted to master the language and speak like a native so they only spoke English for 5 years before they uttered another word of Yiddish. That's an immigrant. Someone who looks to totally immerse themselves in the language and culture of the country they are entering. Even my wife, who is ethnically Italian, but raised in Argentina, stopped speaking Spanish and Italian until she mastered the English language. |
