I live in the Northwest and have been selling real estate for 24 years. The housing market in Portland Oregon, Seattle Washington and interestingly even Juneau Alaska is on fire. I say Juneau, because Alaska's entire economy is based on oil and it is in the tank. Everyone in Alaska was sure property values were going to plummet, but they haven't and no one has an explanation.

No one knows why the market is so hot in Alaska? I don't know either, but my guess having ruled out everything else, is simply that people are moving en masse to the Northwest for the quality of life and jobs. Lots of jobs in the Northwest and they are good paying jobs.

And of course San Francisco property values are to the moon.

But many people feel San Francisco Seattle and Portland are three of the best cities in the United States to live in. I would agree-:)>.
