That is true It is impossible to totally avoid the Stikine watershed. They all lie within it. However it not only puts a lot more river between Wrangell and the tailings. But by being on high ground it is not on a river's edge
From the GCMC Prefeas.
" Process water for the mill facility will be reclaimed from the tailings pond, with minimal
fresh makeup water being supplied by wells located in the vicinity."

There is also a lot of land between any river and the tailings facility in the more valley, which would help to absorb any potential leak before it poured into the flowing waterway. It is a fairly well thought out location, how ever they proceed with it.
The Hydro to a sub station planned in the More valley, Road to get equipment in and product out of the area at present are dependent on what GCMC does. As they will follow the GCMC route.

Considering the number of mining & exploration companies which the road will provide access for, It will have to be like a highway Copper Fox alone I believe has been estimated 77 vehicle trips per day. Galore is bigger than that. So is Romios just to mention a couple out of a possible perhaps 20 as exploration grows.

Plus there are going to be numerous logging companies harvesting the timber once it is accessible. A single lane road will never be allowed by Work Safe BC. So I suggest before any thing significant takes place regarding production at Shaft creek. Look for road building to begin. I'm not sure the Provincial Government won't need to get involved.

With the studies by GCMC proceeding on the tunnel and other things since 2011.
"Jason Weber, president and CEO of Kiska Metals Corporation, which has the Grizzly copper-gold porphyry exploration property 52 kilometres east of Galore Creek, said the decision to restart the Galore Creek project is good news for his company."
