Harvey - strict libertarians and followers of Ayn Rand's objectivism insist there can be no legitimate governmental interference with free enterprise, that the antitrust laws themselves are what's wrong, not the behavior of Microsoft and other companies. Not true. IMNHO, a strict libertarian would argue that it is the government's place to intervene to prevent coercion. Since MSFT is in fact attempting to coerce consumers, intervention is warranted. The government has several functions, one of which is to protect citizens from coersion and violence. -justinb
