Blasher - losing weight and keeping that weight off permanently requires a lifestyle change. It is not just about reducing one's daily calorie intake. It requires exercise and eating the right foods and beverages. Otherwise, one will be dieting for most of one's life, like a cousin of mine does.

I eat a lot more food now than I did 30 years ago when I was 20 pounds heavier. But I jog an hour a day six days a week and gave up liquor and junk food, along with candy, cakes, soda and ice cream.

I gave up meat because it's unhealthy; it contains lots of saturated fat which clogs the arteries and is high in cholesterol.

I eat fish and grilled chicken with lots of fruits and vegetables. I eat all day long, but eat the right foods. No fried foods for me.

If you want to lose weight and keep it off, you got to give up a few things and change your lifestyle.

My craving for chocolate ice cream was satisfied with these enlightened bars, which are much healthier:
