"Using your logic, Americans of all stripes should be plastering the walls of Canadian political sites with their opinions" That has nothing to do with my logic. A lot of people from all countries are educated and interested in the world that affects us all. I did not make Americans out to be stupid, unaware, or unconcerned. "I have too much respect for the people of Canada to presume to know what leader is best for them to elect" If you have any education at all then you have an opinion. Granted that who we elect is not terribly important to you--perhaps. But your country is in a tailspin where communists are winning state primaries! That is rather a concern to educated people everywhere! And did you really think that your country owns the First Amendment? You don't even believe in it. Do you also resent people discussing philosophy, religion, evolution and other sciences--unless they are U.S. Citizens?? "we can disagree about points of view." Let us see if you are being honest...
