Cousin Delbert, Why don't YOU read about how they find the layer of silt in locations all over the world, and tell ME? If I tell you, why should you believe me?

You are the one who needs to find the truth, about ONE of these matters. Once you find the truth about one, that will lead to more.

In my opinion, you would profit MOST by first investigating Jesus.

If you don't have the correct opinion of him, it won't matter if you believe God created the earth, then flooded it sometime later, or not.

There are a LOT of problems with carbon dating.

Consider the latest one, discovered by some people somewhere in Texas, who have been doing independent work to date the Shroud of Turin. I think it was a few months ago, that I read about their work in the Sunday section of one of the Texas newspapers.

They have found that the microscopic stuff (I don't know what it is - bacteria or general tiny bits of glop) that has attached to the fibres makes dating the shroud impossible, because the stuff attached to the fibers is being dated and skewing the results by a totally unknown factor.

Basing my whole eternal destiny on the wobbly opinion of any scientists, relating to the validity of carbon dating (or any other kind) seems foolish, to me.

Is the speed of light slowing down? Has everything always decayed at the same rate?

I talked to a physicist the other day, who said there is another theory, among the multitude of theories floating around, that: there is only one electron in the whole universe! Hmm. How does that fit into the ideas relating to belief in God or otherwise?

Is it really wise, to try to understand everything, before believing in Jesus, the Son of God?

Jesus said to approach God as a child. You could try observing children, then try approaching God the way Jesus recommends.

John
