And an excellent PC Card review in the 1/1/98 Computer Shopper. Compared against the 5 Cards that offer ITU upgrades when the standard is set, the reviewer does an excellent job on giving a snap-shot of the GVIL combo card. The reviewer says the following in the article and GVIL specific review: "The card may be better equipped to handle new specifications because it relies on a programmable digital signal processor (DSP), in contrast to some designs that use fixed-function processors. If you need both an Ethernet connection and faster downloads, this card can save you a PC Card slot and some money compared with separate cards for these functions. Its other features simply enhance its attractive value."

And, to close, he says the following: "...if you need to connect to a network while in the office, the Global Village offering is your only choice among these five."
