49r - Thanks for the offer. I would love to know what OTC OPTIONS are and how why they are negatively affecting the POG at this time.

Of course I feel compelled to make an uneducated guess so that in the event I just happen to be right I can momentarily bask in the glory and convince myself I know far more than I actually do (which hopefully will wear off long before I back it up with $$$ and learn otherwise) :-)

My assumption is that OTC = 'over the counter' and that the option expiry represent sales of gold at a fixed rate based on 'futures contracts' that were traded some time in the past, with a deadline of Dec 31/97.

How'd I do??? :-)
