There is always a buyer, but when it is large volume to the downside, the interpretation is usually pretty clear.

Consolidation offers some benefits to the company, none to the shareholder really. It reduces the share float, which is a concern for some shareholders who don't like large ones. It raises the sp, which *may* get institutional or others who won't play penny stocks to take a second look.

But mostly, it is basically a reset that allows many more years of fund raising and helps to put the past behind them. Many holders will move on with this news (the action today suggests so) and new people will come along who don't know (or bother to seek out) the old news.

The real blow would be to change the name of the company. That is really just to hide the past. We've seen that many times on the venture. I don't think they will necessarily do that here, but Elmer's other company Boxxer did it in the past few years. Look how well that turned out (admittedly he left the company, but there was not much left when he did).
