Concerning connectivity. I'm in a temporary location, miles from home. I'll be here for a couple weeks or more. The wifi connection is slightly better that dial-up. It takes eons to get a screen full.

Once the connection is finally made, then things get a very slight bit better. So I'm wondering if it would be alright to leave this laptop on all the time? Once I get connected to the few sites I need, the machine becomes barely usable, but it's better than starting over each time. I would let the battery cycle down to a very low state then plug it in for a recharge. I'm thinking about leaving it on overnight, maybe just on the battery at full charge to begin with?

I'm almost relegated to using my available data on my cell phone for the essential stuff. Once I get out of range of this wifi, the phone picks up speed, or at least it seems like it.
