REAL Time vs Internet Time and other Options

I have been using RTInternet Trader ( http:/www.naq.com )for nearly 7 months now and despite its bugs, it has been the best for the dollar paid (Under $50 including exh fees). They have now gotten 5 day intra-day data in line and it can be charted from 15min to 1 min to the tick level. Hundreds of streaming quotes in chart or tabular format can be monitored, but I suspect the practical limit is around 200-300. Beyond that your 28.8 modem line will get jammed up.

Over 15 TA indicators are available on every chart (intra and daily) and a simple click gives you a numerical listing of every indicator at any place on the chart NOT just the last. Only 4-5 of them can be plotted at one time however or things get pretty cluttered. A 17" screen is a must for this guy.

The time and sales data is good but suffers from occasional "outlyers" that mess up charts and the assummed ranges. Big improvements have been made.

The scanning feature while it eventually worked was just too limited to be an effective tool, but was a nice feature for basic scans (maximum # of selected stocks was 30-40 in one scan)

The customer satisfaction level has been only fair, because NAQ could not explain or figure out the significant "data black outs" that occurred last fall. Nearly every service has the same problems. Things are much better now, but it must be noted that the Internet is NOT ready to provide private cable speeds for "real time" yet,

Thus evolves Real time versus Internet time on the actual value of quotes.

I have looked at 4-5 other services in the same price range. What did I look for:

1) Better scanning
2) Transfer and saving of data in usable format (0 for RTIT on this)
3) Options prices

The only feature that I have found to be better is scanning in IQ Suite (www.iqc.cim) and I am on the 30 trial with that service. It is NOT real time, tho. The charts have a many more indicators than RTIT as well and up to 50 or more TA indicators can be used in the scans. The price for delayed (15-20 min) is $18/mnth which would be wonderful for Real Time. Since so many indicators are based on EOD, scanning with real time TA indicators is not really available in either package. Exporting of data and options I have not found in any other package under $50/month. I looked at casecom and bullsession and both brought my 32meg Pent 60 to a crawl after 30 mins of use.(browser based java caused this I am sure). Both of these I suspect have potential, but I have not given them a fair look see lately.

Interestingly, IQSuite is Java but NOT browser based, so you d/l the entire package and run it locally outside the browser. Again watch lists and portfolio selections can not be imported or exported to other programs. And building watch list portfolios is slow and tedious, because watch lists cannot be directly converted to portfolios in either package. The symbols must be retyped.
