Maybe the single nicest thing about living down here is that I can get fresh seafood every day all year long that comes right out of our pristine waters. The weather down here has been really nice and sunny and calm and so the fishermen have been out and I've been able to buy fresh red snapper at our local supermarket almost every day.

He buys it right off the boats. Spring Kings are starting to run. . They are the first salmon to go up the rivers. They have a long way to go some of them. The big fat Spring Kings are the best and in the spring there are so many the price comes down to an acceptable level. In the winter I have to pay $19 a pound, but in the spring it drops all away down to about 14 and they are fresher are so fat and delicious.

But I look forward to the sockeye the most because they are really a good fish, good price and as oily as the Kings so they smoke up real well. Getting fresh smoked sockeye and salmon dip in the spring is another treat.

I just rinsed some fresh red snapper I bought a couple of hours ago and it was so pretty I had to comment on it-lol.
