i just watched another video of grant. it was made a little over a year ago. he's changed his views a lot since then. he's moved a lot closer to what i believe. in his latest video he says he's no longer sure of things that he used to be sure of. he's not quite as much of a gold bug now.

a decade ago i was a gold bug too. i saw no harm in it. i wanted a gold standard currency. but not anymore. i don't mind though, if people use gold as a currency as long as i have access to a good fiat.

yes, as we move further into socialism i believe the dollar will continue to fail. and it is failing. it's not a good currency in a socialistic system. and the reason fiats continue to fail is because governments keep moving into socialism. that's where grant hasn't yet made a connection. and that's why i'm planning to move into gold stocks again eventually. but i'm not planning on making a killing as much as just trying to hold on to the wealth i already have. having a lot more dollars won't mean much if it takes a lot more dollars to live.

just to be clear, a metal by weight currency is best to have in socialism. a well run fiat is best to have in free market capitalism. the reason a well run fiat would be best is because it would be tied to the advancing efficiency of labor in a free market economy. it would steadily gain in buying power. in advancing socialism, it would steadily lose buying power. grant doesn't see this yet but he's moving in that direction.
