Doug, You know it is interesting as I reread that article how much they mix up years and numbers. In the end, I'm not sure what they are saying. They mention units increasing at the end, but that is 97 over 96. In the beginning, there is a prediction of 21 million units growth, but for what year? It would be nice to see a clearer prediction for 98.
Anyway, I wonder what use their predictions are in reality. No one seemed to be able to predict the rush to under $1000 PC's. I think we are going to see a point where Intel is going to wreck and then what's going to happen? Somehow, we survived a couple of missed earnings from INTC, but I wonder how it will go in the future?
It was very interesting how in the beginning of the year, they announced that MPU's had over taken DRAM as the highest dollar component. At that point, it only seemed likely that competition had to come, as it has and now Intel's earnings have steadily been reduced.
But, to follow your thought, "i feel the beginings of a surge in good tech stocks for 1998 and your post helps to confirm it Thanks!"
Why?
