One of the key adversaries of the civil rights act was Robert Byrd who was a democrat (Dixie or not) until he died in 2010.

Koan, I don't understand how you are trying to distance yourself from the democrats who voted against the civil rights act. They were democrats and belonged to the democrat party. Are you trying to say they weren't real democrats like tea parties and not republicans? Or trumpeters are not conservatives?

Or are you just trying to rewrite history?

They were members of the Democratic Party. Can we agree on that?
