Towne Bank (TOWN):

This bank has only been around since 1999. And I know everyone hates the banks. But I'm a big fan of Towne Bank because it has a dominant market share in the regions it services and is a potential acquisition candidate. Another reason why I like Town is very few analysts on Wall Street cover this bank. The stock has performed very well over the last 2 years. Town has quietly gone about its business of acquiring acquisitions under its ever expanding umbrella of operations in Richmond and Hampton Roads, VA. Moreover, the bank has the best balance sheet I have ever seen for a bank and earnings have been strong. As far as banks go, this is a gem and I expect TOWN to continue to shine bright where it counts the most, as far as its shareholders are concerned. And yes, Town offers a nice dividend of 48 cents a year.

Disclosure: Don't tell the hardcore Gold Bugs, but I am very long the stock in my personal account.
