I think cymer's tanking is due to lack of liquidity and shorters.

At this price, if you short the stock and buy back 1/4 point less, you have a 1.6% return in your investment.

Shorter also notice the best time to sell is at the opening and cover at mid-day when the price is lowest. This has been a pattern for several weeks in Cymer.

When the price gets too low, it scares cymer shareholders, so they sell to take the year end tax loss.

Some cymer investors also gamble on the fact that if they sell now, they can buy back later at a lower price. Apparently this is working well.

No large shares traded. No institution buying. Only small investors try to trade the stock and take chances.

It is a market event. No fundamental change in the company.
