The Obama DOI has publicly stated that there will no more dams built in the US ... in OR and CA, they're actually tearing down perfectly good dams. Say what?? We are going to build thousands of "low head" dams while we tear down a few obsolete ones. It's nice to see what has happened to the Elwha River here near me: Elwha River Restoration nps.gov Obama & Co. have allowed for that. As long as we factor in environmental factors it's a "no brainer".
