I live in a majority black city, and can tell you from 46 years of personal experience that, on the whole, blacks are significantly more racist than whites, at least in my city. And the worst racism you'll see is that practiced by light skinned blacks on their darker brethren.

Is it intrinsically racist for me to cross to the other side of the street when I see a bunch of young hoodie wearing black guys with their pants near their knees cutting up or is it merely sensible self-protection given what the crime statistics show?

Am I wonderfully PC and inclusive or just plain stupid if I walk straight into those guys and get robbed or worse?

On the other hand, would you believe that the person I know who has the best manners I have ever seen on anyone, black, brown, or white, is a near-illiterate black guy? Or that I have developed a very nice friendship with the roofer who saved my house during K***rina?

Intrinsic racism, hah, koan, you don't have a clue. Platitudes 'r us.
