NEWS - 7-ELEVEN STORES

ST. LOUIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 29, 1997--The Source Information Management Company (NASDAQ:SORC) announced an agreement today with Southland 7-Eleven to service the Front End Display Merchandising program that will launch in 7-Eleven stores during the first quarter of 1998.

The Southland Corporation serves America with approximately 5,000 corporate and franchised stores throughout the United States. The Source Information Management Company ("The Source") will be responsible for coordinating manufacturing, store installation, and vendor billing and collection.

This agreement continues The Source's role of Front End management for many of its major retail clients, including Kmart, a project that began in 1997 and continues through 1998. This service provides the expertise required to coordinate the many complexities involved with the checkout area.

Furthermore, The Source announced it has secured an agreement with Wachovia Bank to provide an additional $5 million under the terms of its credit facility for the purpose of continued expansion of its advance pay program. This increases the available facility from $15 million to $20 million.

The Source provides highly specialized and technical services to a client base of more than 700 retailers representing approximately 70,000 mass merchandise, grocery, convenience and pharmacy stores, primarily in connection with magazines and other related consumer products displayed at the checkouts.
