BTW the net absorption spectrum is the difference between the sample + background minus background only (and you want to minimize the background spectrum).

True but the data is really shitty if not purging the system. Why? H2O.

And this is irrelevant to CO2/H2O absorption spectra.

Wrong and your paper proves it.
