" a "few PPM" of CO2 makes a difference."

"A few" don't; a few hundred do. In fact, this month CO2 hit about 129 ppm above the pre-industrial level of 280, and temperatures are 1.4 - 1.5C degrees above pre-industrial temps. NOAA's pre-industrial temps are about 0.17 degrees cooler than the more-widely reported 20th Century baseline (1951-80), so when NOAA says March is 1.21 above the baseline, it is also 1.38 degrees above pre-industrial levels; NASA has their pre-industrial temps 0.22 below mid-century levels, so they already have us at 1.5 degrees.

Expected sensitivity for a doubling of CO2 is 1.5-4.5 degrees C. Bearing in mind that levels right now are spikes above the trend, and will drop a bit, we've gone up 129 ppm in CO2, and temps have already gone up 1.38-1.50 degrees. We still have over 150 ppm of CO2 to go.
