Greetings Shalom, I trust you and your family had a blessed celebration of Our Lords incarnation. I concur wholeheartedly with your understanding of the above scripture in what the Holy Spirit wants us to see with regards to who is " they " referring to in the above mentioned scripture. Indeed, it is the " wicked or unbelievers ". If one fails to understand this truth, all other scriptures used are taken out of the true context. We can see this practice is rampant in North America, which is evident by the demand for the number of books and tapes on the " popular " market, on such subjects as the " rapture, the second coming of Christ, etc.. Thank you for taking the time and energy to post much of the written Word of God on various threads. I speak from experience with regard to how words are taken out of context and then used to build our own doctrines. In my younger days with the Lord, I to allowed myself to " fall prey " to the many views on the rapture, 2nd coming, tribulation etc, rather than allowing my teacher, the Holy Spirit, to instruct me as Jesus said He would. It was so much easier to follow a mans teaching, rather than to diligently search the scriptures for myself. If my posts come across as somewhat harsh to other people, believe me that is not my intent. I just want to save them a trip down the wrong road. Grace and peace be unto you and your family Shalom and the Israel of God. May all of our brothers and sisters climb to new heights in 1998, as Gods Kingdom is seen on earth. Robert |
