Would Cruz have won NY otherwise? Of course not. NY is Trump's home ground. There was no scenario where a conservative Texas would win NY state. Trump winning there was expected. When the general election rolls around, no Republican will carry the state. Trump got fewer votes than either of the two Democrats running. Combined the Dem turnout was 3X+ Trump's vote count.
