As those who have lived in Latin American cultures know, the 6th of January is Three Kings' Day. Traditionally, although Christmas (Navidad) is certainly celebrated, they do not have a Santa who brings presents for the little ones on Christmas. Instead, children know that it is the Three Kings who bring them them presents, just as they did two millenia ago for the just-born messiah. It is plainly obvious that Mr. Jensen, having a mine so close to Mexico, and owning properties with Spanish names such as "Oro Grande" was thinking about this Latin American cultural connection to gift-giving...and perhaps was even paying homage in advance to the appropriate culturo-mythological icons in order to propitiate their dispensations of luck in the new year.....a nuestra suerte y prosperidad!
