I think I do, and rather regret being snarky.

I suspect you are one of a multitude with no exposure to serious thought on how successful societies are created or maintained. Familiarity would require digesting volumes of material and few have the time, or understand why that knowledge is so crucial. Some of the people on SI try to convey bits here and there, but penetrating the shell of OK people long made mushrooms is difficult in this sort of forum.

No individual can improve our lot by fiat. Trump, same as Barack, Bernie, Hillary, and a host of others is a phony, preying on innocents denied comprehension of the processes that make nations great. Or not.

Long immersion in bullshit soup has made too many immune to the eloquent truths in this simple quote:
"A wise and frugal government which shall restrain men from injuring one another, which shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government."
