research at Prudential Securities Inc., has provided a list of 10
companies whose stocks may get a boost from "January effect"
trading, according to a contact at the brokerage firm.
The companies are Smith International Inc. (SII), EVI Inc. (EVI),
Intel
Corp. (INTC), Sun Microsystems Inc. (SUNW), Applied Materials
