My thinking is partly the charts and partly reading deeply about the projects, particularly the 43-101 reports on the resources. Most people never read them and I usually have questions so I call and talk to the QP. Some of them blow me off, but others will answer questions and you get insights into what the project is about and specific parts of the geological model. If they are not responsive about basic geological questions then the red flags go up. I am fortunate that I can speak the language, which helps with these discussions.

My evaluation spreadsheet for companies has over 30 items to consider and you could make your own list just as easily. They reflect my own biases and experience, which seems to be rather different from many on these boards. The top categories for me are a) politics/permitting, b) geology/resource and c) logistics, with many specific criteria under each. A company like MIN meets my criteria for all but 4 items at this point, while CUU only covers 8/30. IVN is strangely only slightly stronger on my matrix with FM and HBM at 23, but they differ according to the issues. As I suggested earlier, I have some concerns about FM, so it gives you a sense of how highly ranked they need to be to get my money as an investment. NOT does not make the cutoff, except for my overwhelming sense of how the ROF has risen to attract real gov't action. That would change everything, but I think it is still a roll of the dice so it remains an exception based more on a gut feeling.

By my criteria, CUU is a zombie with the potential for a quick trade, but I would rarely hold it over a weekend, or even more than a few days. It was largely because of CUU that I decided to semi-quantify my research to make sure I was not falling for confirmation bias. I made lots with CUU but I left almost as much on the table because I was under the influence.

After the latest fiasco, CXM has precisely 1 point on my scale (a geological item). It is the worst I follow and I'm watching now in morbid fascination.

Anyway, be careful and deliberate. I agree with other voices here that tell you to be very cautious about a stock mentioned on these boards. Do a proper investigation, not "DD", which people throw around like they know what it is. When you are comfortable, make a plan and invest.
