you mentioning the AF got me looking at nato survival kits. they are the same thing, hair jigs!

i've been reading about some ocean survival stories and many/most survived on mahi mahi. i don't know if that's because they're the most plentiful or if it's because they're the easiest to catch.

looking at some of the salt water flies and hair jigs on ebay is interesting. some of them are quite beautiful.

if you're ever in a survival situation at sea it would pay to know the right way to fish with the best equipment.
