It is going to look terrible for Trump if he can't resolve it before trial. $40 Million is cheap. But it looks a hell of a lot better than giving classified information to Russia, China, and everyone else. There really is no comparison. While we've elected idiots before (See: Obama), there is no precedent I can recall of electing someone who has committed, effectively, espionage on her own cabinet office. She's not going to jail, I'm sure. But it is criminal and she will need to pay for that.
