Abu Dhabi utility pre-qualifies 48 companies for 350 MW solar project

27.4.2016: Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority (ADWEA) has pre-qualified 48 companies for the construction of a 350 MW solar plant about 120 kilometres east of the capital of the United Arab Emirates. Local newspaper Khaleej Times reports that these companies are competing to have a stake of only 40% in the special purpose company that will own the solar facility, while the remaining 60% will be owned by ADWEA. The tender for the project was issued in December 2015. According to the article, ADWEA had received 90 expressions of interest for the project in the frame of the tender. The pre-qualified bidders are as follows: Acciona / Swicorp (as consortium), Acme, ACWA Power, Adani, Alfanar / Building Energy (as consortium), Canadian Solar, China State Construction Engineering Corporation, EDF Energies Nouvelles, Elecnor, Enel, Engie, Equis, First Solar, Fotowatio FRV, Golden Concord Holdings / PAL Technology (as consortium).
